The Ruphoria project, a new brand of cosmetics, started from one woman's "dream.
The film follows the secret story of how the developer and founder, Rie Kamiya, president of R. Beauty Office, LLC, developed her dream original brand of cosmetics and gave shape to her commitment to supporting women's beauty.
A past of low self-confidence
Kamiya says he originally lacked self-confidence.
I was a complement to my friends. I felt I wasn't seen as a woman."
However, when I have my makeup done at the cosmetics section of a department store, I am impressed by the power of makeup.
I got into makeup when I thought, "Maybe I'm beautiful now."
Accomplishments as a Beauty Consultant
"Women can be transformed by makeup!" and realizing this from her own experience, Kamiya attended makeup school and began working as a beauty consultant, actually standing in the cosmetics section of a department store and giving customers advice on cosmetics and makeup.
Knowing the power of makeup, her enthusiasm and passion naturally led her to become the No. 1 beauty salesperson in sales.

Shocked by the environment in which Okinawan women spend their time.
Later, when she had a baby, she decided to quit her job as a beauty salon employee and moved to Okinawa Prefecture. When she started spending time in the tropical environment of Okinawa, she was shocked by the strong ultraviolet rays and humidity.
I was surprised at the harshness of the skin environment in Okinawa because I had learned many times during my years as a beauty consultant that UV rays are the cause of most skin problems."
The skin of cucumbers, tomatoes, and other vegetables in Okinawa is also hard, and I am convinced that this same thing is happening to the skin of women who spend time in Okinawa. I strongly felt the need to make the effects of ultraviolet rays more widely known.
I want to create my own brand of cosmetics."
Kamiya had always had a dream of creating original cosmetics. However,

What are the first cosmetics needed to increase the number of glowing women?
In order to create original cosmetics, the first step was to decide "which cosmetics to create.
At first, Kamiya wanted to make lipsticks. While beginning to coordinate the manufacturing process to create a lipstick, he learned that it takes millions of yen to develop a single color, so he gave up on the idea as a first production.
So what can we make?
As we went back to the beginning and thought about it and asked around for opinions, we got a lot of opinions on "powder" and "flour".
Powder development begins.
"If there is a powder that can achieve a glowing skin, has a sunscreen effect, and can protect Okinawan women's skin while making them look beautiful and attractive."
This is where the development of the first silk powder began.

Despite all the firsts, people who shared REFORIA's passion gathered to form "Team REFORIA".
Members gradually become more and more present when they are faced with problems in formulation and package selection.

Non-negotiable commitment
The powder formulation was a non-negotiable commitment.

However, the powder that we came up with a formula for was too glaring, not enough SPF, or too white and matte, and we went through many prototypes.
I knew that if I put 50 SPF in it, it would be too matte and white. But I knew that Luforia's powder had to have both a glossy finish and a sunscreen effect. I adjusted the color, amount, and formula of the pearls many times while consulting with them."
Confronting "All I Don't Know
In addition to formulations, Kamiya says there were many things he did not know and had to decide as he proceeded to create his original cosmetics.
Cosmetics take more time in the container than they do on the inside."
It costs 700,000 yen for a sunscreen test, and it can take as long as six months from the time of the test until it can be listed."
We faced each project for the first time as it progressed and overcame the challenges of the moment through a series of team meetings.

About 60 people who shared Ruforia's aspirations and were eagerly awaiting the launch of the product gathered at the event.
While most of the participants were local since it was held in Okinawa, some came from outside the prefecture to celebrate.
A lot of feedback on the Rufolia Silk Powder.
As the product is released to the public and used by ordinary women, the power of the silk powder, for which Kamiya has repeatedly adjusted the formulation, is demonstrated.
